Ohio State QB Will Howard “Can Take the Buckeyes Deep This Year” According to Former Teammate

Speaking highly of Will Howard, Kansas State TE Ben Sinnott spoke to what Ohio State fans can expect of their new signal-caller in 2024.

The NFL Combine has left a mark on the future of the professional sports league, yet high praise for current college players was the underlying theme on the second day of player availability in Indianapolis. For Ohio State Buckeyes fans, it’s safe to say they can be quite excited about the high praise for their incoming signal-caller Will Howard.

NFL Draft hopeful and former Kansas State teammate Ben Sinnott spoke about the type of player Howard is and what Ohio State fans can expect.

    Will Howard ‘Is a Warrior’

Speaking with members of the media on Thursday in Indianapolis, Sinnott didn’t hold back his high praise for his former quarterback. Sinnott went in-depth on how excited he is to watch Howard play in Columbus and what makes him special.

“Expect a fighter,” Sinnott said when asked what Ohio State fans should expect. “He’s a warrior, he’s one of the hardest workers I’ve ever met.”

Work ethic aside, Sinnott didn’t just stop with the gritty, on-field play for Howard. Sinnott detailed how smart Howard is, noting a specific nickname they had for him in Manhattan.

“He’s super intelligent, we call him Rain Man,” Sinnott said of Howard’s smarts off the field. “He knows all random facts about everything.”

Making matters even more exciting for Buckeyes’ fans is the fact that Sinnott also mentioned a specific fact that makes Howard potentially more dangerous for Ohio State. A proverbial chip on his shoulder follows Howard to Columbus.

“I mean, he’s one of the hardest workers I know, one of the toughest guys I know,” Sinnott said. “He’s got one of the biggest chips on his shoulder to take the Buckeyes deep. He knows the game so well, he knows what the defense is doing, he knows where the holes are going to be, he makes the right reads, and he makes the right checks when we need.”

Howard’s work before the snap was praised by Sinnott almost as much as his play on the field, citing the fact that Sinnott led the Kansas State pro-style offense with ease.

Sinnott also pointed to the fact that Howard has a ton of talent surrounding him with Ohio State in 2024.

“I’m super excited to see what he can do with the weapons and the opportunity he has,” Sinnott said. “I’m pumped for him.”

Taking the Buckeyes deep is one thing, but Sinnott specifically stated the goals Howard has in leading Ohio State this season.

“The only thing he has on his mind is winning a National Championship and beating Michigan.”
