The Colorado Buffaloes received great news Thursday morning as 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton committed to the program. The 6’6″, 285-pounder is expected to compete for playing time right away for head coach Deion Sanders’ Buffs.
What led to Seaton joining the Buffs?
Jordan Seaton Commits to Colorado
Seaton announced his intentions on FS1’s “Undisputed” show, opting to go with Colorado over Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, and numerous other blue blood programs.
Ohio State was considered in the lead for Seaton’s services, but the IMG Academy product and top-ranked tackle recruit opted for Coach Prime.

“Taking my second visit there, I like the connection I have with the coaches,” Seaton said after his official visit to Colorado. “There aren’t many mostly black coaching staffs out there. Just seeing somewhat familiar faces and people who look like me on the coaching staff is definitely very rare. There are only a few black head coaches in college football so it’s definitely rare seeing that.
Seaton could be a game-changer for the Colorado football team in dire need of improvement both on the offensive line and in recruiting. As a Class of 2024 recruit, he would most likely be a top contender for an immediate starting position on the offensive line, which struggled to protect quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the previous season.
The Buffaloes had the dubious distinction of giving up 56 sacks, which was the highest in the Power Five and ranked last in the country in rushing offense.
Two starters from that O-line are already in the transfer portal: Van Wells and Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan. The Buffaloes also added a new offensive line coach in Oklahoma analyst Phil Loadholt.
If Shedeur Sanders does return to school, he should have an improved, more talented offensive line.
