Oregon Ducks QB Bo Nix has had an outstanding season and two-year career as the Ducks’ signal-caller. With his performance in his conference’s title game, Nix has continued to move up in the record books during the Pac-12 Championship Game.
With 7,499 passing yards in his Oregon career, Nix headed into the title game against Washington, knowing that he could move up the all-time rankings with a good performance. His 14,750 career passing yards put him within moving up to No. 7 on the all-time list as well.
Bo Nix Moves Up On All-Time Passing Yards Leaderboard
Nix will have his sights set on bigger aspirations, with the Pac-12 title to win and a possible College Football Playoff place to fight for. But the quarterback has passed personal records already during the Pac-12 Championship Game.
Ahead of the game, Nix needed just 115 yards to pass Oklahoma QB Dillon Gabriel for seventh place on the all-time college football passing yards list.
Nix’s 14,750 career passing yards entering the game trailed Gabriel’s 14,865. But with a second-quarter completion to Troy Franklin, Nix passed Gabriel and now has his eyes on Ty Detmer, Sam Hartman, and potentially Graham Harrell on the all-time list.

Nix wasn’t done there, however, as he moved up on other school leaderboards in Eugene.
Nix Moves up Oregon All-Time Passing Yards List
Before kickoff, Nix sat at No. 6 in passing yards in all-time school history, with a chance of moving up all the way to No. 3 all-time against the Huskies. Needing just 132 passing yards in the title game, Nix knew he would jump up three spots on the leaderboard with a good showing.
To overtake No. 5 on the list, Kellen Clemens (who registered 7,555), Nix needed just 56 passing yards. To move up even further to No. 4, Nix needed 63 yards, another milestone that is more than manageable given his tremendous season.
However, by the time the clock hits 00:00 in the Pac-12 Championship, Nix could be all the way up to No. 3 on the leaderboard. Bill Musgrave currently has the third most passing yards in Oregon history with 7,631.
That means Nix only needed to put up 132 yards against Washington to take third spot.
Sadly for Nix, the top two are way out in front. The top two passing yards leaders in Oregon history are Marcus Mariota at No. 1 (10,796) and Justin Herbert at No. 2 (10,541).
Moving up to the third spot, however, is quite the achievement for Nix, who is breaking all types of records in 2023.
Nix has already broken the record for the most starts by a college quarterback. The previous record was 53, and Nix broke that record by playing his 54th game against Washington earlier in the season.
Not only has Nix broken the record. He has absolutely smashed it, with the Pac-12 Championship game being his 60th start in college football.
