The fantasy football season is in full swing. With Week 8 beginning on Thursday with a game between the Chargers and Vikings, fantasy owners will be looking at their best starting options before Sunday.
Running back is one of the most difficult positions to assess from season to season. It is one of the most injury-prone positions in the sport, and as a result, year-to-year performances can vary drastically. Here is a look at five sleeper running backs who have a chance to shine in Week 8.
Top 5 Underrated Fantasy Football Running Backs Who Could Shine in Week 8
Rachaad White
RB Rachaad White and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to play the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET. The Bucks have been one of the most consistent teams this season, but are coming off a 24-9 loss to the Detroit Lions. With Bucky Irving out again this week, White will once again be the starter. He should be considered a must-start player in leagues where you can start at least two running backs.
While White had a poor performance last week, he was excellent in the previous two weeks with Iriving out. We expect him to bounce back against a struggling Saints team.
J.K. Dobbins
Denver Broncos RB J.K. Dobbins has not performed at his best the past few weeks. He has 13.0 PPR points combined in the past two games. He has not scored a TD since Week 5. However, the Broncos are going up against the Dallas Cowboys, who have one of the worst defenses in the league. They have allowed the third most points to running backs this season, so this could be a bounce-back week for Dobbins.
Tyler Allgeier
Atlanta RB Tyler Allgeier has a strong chance to have a strong showing in Week 8. The Falcons are set to play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, who have struggled immensely this season. The Dolphins are the No. 4-ranked team in fantasy points allowed to running backs. RBs have scored at least 16.1 PPR points against Miami in each of the past six games.
While Bijan Robinson will still likely get the majority of the snaps, Allgeier will also likely get plenty of playing time. If that is the case, he could have a big game on Sunday.

Jaylen Warren
Pittsburgh RB Jaylen Warren had a great game in Week 7, making 16 carries for 127 yards and four catches for 31 yards. He has become a consistent force this season for the Steelers, and while the team has a tough matchup against the Packers, he is still expected to have a strong week. Fans should not expect him to set a season high in PPR points this week, but he is still worth a start in most leagues and on most teams.
Chuba Hubbard
Rico Dowdle has emerged as an excellent RB for the Carolina Panthers in recent weeks. While he is likely to get many snaps, Chuba Hubbard has been a consistent performer this season. In his first game back last week after a calf injury, Hubbard had 14 carries for 31 yards and two catches for 24 yards.
While Dowdle performed well while Hubbard was out, it appears the team still has Hubbard in the starting slot. He played 38 snaps last week, whereas Dowdle only played 33. Now that Hubbard has a game back, he could get a bigger workload this week.
