It seems as though coach Mike McCoy‘s Tennessee Titans’ woes in the 2025 NFL season will continue, with one of their key cogs, Calvin Ridley, set to miss more action. In Week 6 of their schedule this year, the Titans faced coach Pete Carroll’s Las Vegas Raiders in away territory, Allegiant Stadium, wherein they lost by 10 points, 20-10. To add to this, wide receiver Ridley left the game early after sustaining a hamstring injury.
Ridley signed with Tennessee in 2024 after concluding his one-year stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now, with a year under his belt with the Titans, the franchise was hoping to take a step further in their progression. Unfortunately, the struggles may continue heading into Week 8 of this year, as Ridley will likely be out, with his team currently on a two-game losing streak.

Calvin Ridley suffered a hamstring injury against the Raiders as he merely played the game, six snaps to be exact, and left for treatment. Ridley sat out the Titans’ loss to coach Mike Vrabel’s New England Patriots in Week 7 on Sunday, Oct. 19, by a staggering 18 points, 31-13, on their home pitch, Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Reports have since surfaced that Ridley did not participate in the team’s most recent practice on Thursday, Oct. 23. Nevertheless, the Titans are reportedly pursuing a gradual return for Ridley in the hopes of getting him back in shape and improving on their current overall record of 1-6, placing them as just the No. 4 seed in the AFC South.

Will Calvin Ridley Play Week 8?
Tennessee is set to face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Oct. 26, in the latter’s home stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, for their Week 8 matchup of the campaign. Despite his strides towards recovery, Calvin Ridley remains doubtful to play in Week 8, with the game being three days away. His trajectory is headed towards not playing and vying to return in Week 9.
Calvin Ridley Fantasy Outlook
While no report has indicated a confirmation on Ridley’s status against the Colts in Week 8, fantasy managers should know that if the slim chance of Ridley playing comes to fruition, he likely won’t be at 100%. With this, fantasy managers can turn to veteran wide receiver Van Jefferson and rookies Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike as viable options to substitute Ridley momentarily.
