Saying that the Minnesota Vikings are a little banged up may be a massive understatement, as the team has several players who are missing action due to injuries. The team will be taking on the LA Chargers for Week 8, and this raises the question of who will be playing, especially in the running back position, which has the most injuries right now.
The Vikings have a total of six players in the injured reserve, with another six players listed as questionable ahead of the Week 8 showdown. However, most of the injuries are with the team’s running backs. Here is the team’s depth chart at that position:
Minnesota Vikings Running Back Depth Chart For Week 8:
RB1: Jordan Mason
Jordan Mason is the only fully healthy running back for the Minnesota Vikings heading into Week 8, and he is expected to start the game. He currently has 380 rushing yards on 84 rushing attempts, with four rushing touchdowns, leading the team in all those stats. On the receiving side, he has had nine receptions on 34 receiving yards, though he has not yet scored any receiving touchdown.
RB2: Zavier Scott (Questionable)
The QB2 has been listed as questionable after suffering a rist injury, so there is no guarantee that he would be able to play. Should the Vikings sit him out, Mason would be the only active running back for the team. He is a solid backup RB, rushing for 53 yards om 19 carries this year already.
RB3: Aaron Jones Sr. (Injured Reserve)
Aaron Jones has been languishing in the Vikings’ injured reserve for weeks, but there is a possibility that the team may finally activate him just in time for Thursday’s showdown against the Chargers. He is currently listed in the IR because of a hamstring injury, but the team may finally activate him. Until the team officially do that, however, Fantasy managers should not start or pick him up yet.
RB4: Ty Chandler (Injured Reserve)
Another running back languishing in the injured reserve is Ty Chanler, who is currently out with a knee injury. He impressed during the team’s showdown with the Chicago Bears, but he injured himself in a very gutsy performance. Unlike Jones, however, Chandler is not expected to be activated any time soon, and is certain to miss the game against the Chargers on Thursday.
