The New York Jets have not yet won a single game this season, and to make matters worse for them, running back Breece Hall got hurt during their Week 7 loss against the Carolina Panthers. The struggling Jets will take on the Cincinnati Bengals next, and this raises the question of whether Hall would be able to play against them.
Hall has been one of the biggest producers for the Jets, playing in 61.2% of all their snaps in 2025, and has been known to the team as a workhorse. Should he miss the Week 8 showdown against the Bengals, the Jets will be without one of their most reliable players on the field.
What Happened to Breece Hall?
Hall was hit hard during that game against the Panthers, with many thinking he might have injured his ankle. As it turned out, he hurt his knee instead and was taken out of the game. He later returned to finish the game with a loss for the Jets, but this suggests that his injury is not that serious.
During a press conference, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn addressed Breece Hall’s injury, noting that the team is optimistic about his injury and told reporters that the running back is currently “day to day,” which means he is probably questionable ahead of the game but there is a big chance he might play.
Will Breece Hall Play This Week?
During the Wednesday practice, Hall worked out in a limited capacity, which is a positive sign as the Jets may be resting him up a bit so he could play on Sunday against the Bengals. His exact status is still unclear though, but given the team’s optimism regarding his status, he is most likely playing on Week 8.
Currently, there are also some trade rumors surrounding Hall, and the team will want to keep him as healthy as possible, so letting him still practice while hurt can be taken as a very positive sign that he may be playing. It should still be noted that because of this, the team might also opt to sit him out so he would not injure himself any further.
Breece Hall Fantasy Outlook
With Hall probably playing against the Bengals, Fantasy managers who drafted him should breathe a sigh of relief as he is not that hurt. However, there is still an off chance that he may get benched on Sunday, so managers should approach his situation with some caution.
