Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has not had the second season fans were hoping for following his tremendous rookie year. He has only appeared in five games this season because of various injuries, and his completion percentage has dropped from 69% to 61%. After missing two games earlier this season, Daniels returned in early October and has played the past three games for the Commanders.
However, on Sunday against Dallas, Daniels exited the game with a hamstring injury.
What Happened to Jayden Daniels?
Jayden Daniels completed 12 of 22 passing attempts for 156 yards and one TD against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. However, he suffered a hamstring injury early in the second half. While he was able to limp off the field and broadcast cameras caught him jogging to the locker room, he was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game.
Will Jayden Daniels Play Week 8?
The status of Jayden Daniels has not been revealed by the coaching staff. However, according to a report from insider Adam Schefter, the hamstring injury is not expected to keep Daniels out long-term.
“Commanders QB Jayden Daniels had an MRI on his hamstring and it is not considered a long term injury, per HC Dan Quinn. But his status for next Monday night vs. KC won’t be revealed until later this week.”

One of the advantages Daniels has that increases his chances of playing this week is that the Commanders play on Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs. As a result, he will have one more day than normal to heal up before the game.
Jayden Daniels Fantasy Outlook
Jayden Daniels is still a viable fantasy option this season if his injury is not long-term, as reports indicate. However, for this week, fantasy owners are likely better off finding a replacement on the waiver wire.
With the Commanders playing on Monday, fantasy owners cannot wait until the game to hear his status. If they wait that long, they will not be able to pick someone up on the waiver wire to play for them. As a result, they are better off leaving Daniels on the bench this week and finding another starter.
