George Springer’s Wife Reacts As Toronto Star’s Electric Home Run Sets Up World Series Matchup vs Dodgers

George Springer’s seventh inning three run home run propelled the Toronto Blue Jays into the World Series as they defeated the Seattle Mariners 4-3 in ALCS Game 7. Now they’ll face the Los Angeles Dodgers in World Series which starts this Friday.

Springer’s wife Charlise reposted the iconic moment of Springer wiping off Seattle’s 3-1 lead with the go-ahead home run against Eduard Bazardo. Charlise added a crying emoji to echo what the Mariners fans might be feeling.

Charlise also posted Blue Jays’ postgame celebration with Springer at center in shirtless mode holding a champagne.

Before Springer’s three-run home run hit, the Mariners were leading the game for most part of the game. Mariners’ Josh Naylor delivered a RBI hit in the first inning. Daulton Varsho tied the game in the bottom half. The Mariners jumped to 3-1 lead with the help of solo home runs from Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh in the third and fifth inning, respectively.

However, the Mariners’ dreams of making their first World Series appearance came crashing down when Springer came up with that hit. The three-run hit put Toronto in front and closer Jeff Hoffman applied the finishing touches.

“We love every single one of these fans. This is just such an unbelievable moment,” Springer said after the win.

Charlise Shares George Springer’s Postseason Milestone

Charlise also added a graphic which mentions a postseason milestone achieved by George Springer on Monday. With the three-run home run, Springer tied for all-time with 23 postseason home runs.

Springer’s 23 postseason home runs rank him alongside Kyle Schwarber, just behind José Altuve (27) and Manny Ramírez (29).

Springer has previously won a World Series with the Houston Astros when they defeated the Dodgers in the 2017. Now he’ll be lining up against the same team, who has looked like the team to beat all postseason.

The Dodgers swept the Cincinnati Reds in the wild card round, then got the better of Philadelphia Phillies in NLDS before sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers in NLCS. They are the defending champions so Springer & Co. has a tall task ahead.
