Is Mike Evans Playing Week 7? Latest Injury Update and Fantasy Outlook for Buccaneers WR

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have proven to be one of the most surprising teams in the NFC, and the team may be getting one of their main weapons in wide receiver Mike Evans soon. The Bucs will be taking on the Detroit Lions for Monday Night Football, and the question is, will the injured Evans return in time for that game?

Evans has been injured since Week 3 and has since been slowly trying to work himself back to full health ever since. Their next opponents, the Detroit Lions, is considered one of the best teams in the NFL right now, and Evans could certainly bolster the surging Buccaneers with his presence.

    What Happened to Mike Evans?

During Week 3, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers escaped their game against the still-winless New York Jets with a two-point victory, However, that win costed them one of their best wide receivers, as Mike Evans went down with a hamstring injury. He has since been practicing with the team ahead of the Week 7 showdown in Detroit.

NFL insider Adam Schefter was the one who first reported that Evans has been practicing again, but that alone does not guarantee that he would return to the team, as he noted that this would be a game-time decision for the Buccaneers.

His hamstring injury has been deemed a low-grade injury, and thus making his return all the more likely.

Is Mike Evans Playing Week 7 vs. the Detroit Lions?

In another report, Adam Schefter reported that Mike Evans had limited practice on Thursday, did not practice on Friday, but had a full practice session on Saturday. He is still listed as “Questionable” on his game status, but Schefter noted that it is very likely that the wide receiver e, “has a real chance to play” despite his hamstring injury.

    Mike Evans Fantasy Outlook

With it becoming more and more likely that Mike Evans will be playing on Monday, Fantasy managers should still approach the situation with caution and wait to see if he really does come back on Week 7 against the Detroit Lions.

If he does come back, he can continue his great play, as he already has 140 receiving yards on 14 receptions with one touchdown before getting injured.
