Former LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne has successfully transitioned from college athletics to a thriving career as a social media influencer and model. Since stepping away from gymnastics, Dunne has built a massive following online, where she shares glimpses of her lifestyle, fashion, and travels.
Her popularity has made her one of the most recognizable names in the NIL and influencer space. This week, Dunne gave fans another peek into her off-season life, posting a series of images and videos from her vacation in Taormina, Sicily, with her boyfriend, MLB pitcher Paul Skenes.
In one clip, she’s seen on a yacht enjoying a drink with Skenes, both relaxing under the Mediterranean sun. Dunne wore a sleek black swimsuit as she raised a glass, while Skenes sported sunglasses and swim trunks.
Another photo from the same outing showed her posing solo on the boat with a drink in hand. She also shared a playful moment, performing a headstand on an inflated paddleboard on the water, showing off her gymnast balance and flexibility.
“When the drinks start to taste like I used to be a gymnast,” she captioned the image.
Skenes appeared again in a separate image, wearing a hat and glasses as he enjoyed the calm surroundings. Dunne’s latest vacation posts continue to highlight her rise as a social media personality.
With millions of followers across platforms, 5.3 million on Instagram alone, she’s built an image that mixes athleticism and glamour. Beyond her online presence, Dunne has made waves in modeling, including appearing in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and attending major events such as the ESPYs, New York Fashion Week, and other high-profile gatherings.
Her post-gymnastics career has turned into a blueprint for how athletes can expand their influence beyond sports, but it hasn’t been an easy journey.
Olivia Dunne Opened Up About Her Struggles
Dunne’s run as a model and internet personality has been inspiring. She has quickly made her mark, collaborating with major brands and building a huge audience base. However, getting to this position has been a difficult journey.
“People always comment stuff that they would never say to your face, so part of it is just having developed tough skin. Social media is hard,” Dunne told SI in 2023.
Dunne couldn’t afford to let the negativity affect her in any way, and she found the right help when she needed it most.
“That’s something that Paige Spiranac helped me with, just keeping certain parts of your life private,” Dunne added. “Making sure not to post things that, you know, maybe you don’t want people’s feedback on.”
As difficult as it is to be in her position, Dunne makes it all look so easy and effortless.
