Josh Jacobs Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Packers RB Ahead of Week 7

During that 28-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs scored two touchdowns while battling to illness. The question now is, did that performance take its toll on his body, and can he play for the Packers on Week 7?

He had a total of 150 rushing yards from scrimmage during that win over the Bengals, including those two touchdowns, and he did it while also wanting to puke. He has now become just the sixth player in Packers history with at least 150 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns in consecutive games.

    What Happened to Josh Jacobs?

Josh Jacobs is reportedly battling a minor illness, though what that illness is was not disclosed. However, Jacobs himself has said that he has been coughing a lot.

“I was miked up, so I don’t know if they’re going to put that in there or not,” he said. . “But it was a couple times I was on the field, I was like coughing, everybody like, ‘Man, are you all right?’ I’m like, ‘We’ll figure it out.'”

He then explained that he just did not feel well that day:

“I just kind of woke up this morning just not feeling my best,” he told reporters. “But I told ’em, ‘The last time that I felt that way, I had 130 [yards] and two touchdowns.’ So, it is what it is.”

During the Packers’ practice on Wednesday, he was listed as having limited practice. However, it should be noted that this might just be a precautionary measure on the team’s part.

Is Josh Jacobs Playing Week 7?

As this is just a minor illness, it is very much possible that Josh Jacobs will be playing against the Arizona Cardinals for Week 7. For now, the team is possibly just resting him up to recover just in time for that big game, though it should be noted that it is also possible that the team may decide to sit him out for one game just to make sure. Given his performance against the Bengals while playing sick, however, that is unlikely.

    Josh Jacobs Fantasy Outlook

For now, fantasy managers should not worry about dropping Josh Jacobs, as the running back has been very consistent and even played better than expected while he was sick. He has been quite the machine in that game against the Bengals and it is unlikely that the team will sit him out against the Cardinals.
