Paul Skenes and the Pittsburgh Pirates did not reach the Major League Baseball playoffs this year. While Skenes has quickly established himself as one of the best pitchers in baseball, it was not enough for the Pirates as they went 71-91 and finished at the bottom of the NL Central standings.
Now that it is the offseason, Skenes will have plenty of time to prepare for next season. It also means he will have more time to spend with his girlfriend, former LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne. Dunne is often active on social media, and on Tuesday, she shared photos from her scenic vacation in Sicily on her Instagram story. She had a one-word message when enjoying the view.
“Omg,” Olivia Dunne wrote.
It is unclear from the photos if Skenes is with Dunne in Sicily for a vacation together, or if Dunne went on a trip with her friends or family members. She only posted photos of herself on her Instagram story.
Paul Skenes and Olivia Dunne have been in a relationship since 2023. They met while they were both athletes at LSU. They have since grown into having one of the most public relationships in Major League Baseball. Skenes is one of the biggest young stars in the league, and Dunne is famous for her career as a gymnast and new stardom as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.
Paul Skenes Opens Up About Missing the Playoffs
While Paul Skenes is one of the biggest stars in Major League Baseball, he is not satisfied. Shortly after the end of the season, he talked about how he and his team need to learn from this season.
“This is a wasted year if we don’t learn what we need to do and we don’t know why we didn’t go out there and do what we wanted to do,” Paul Skenes said. “If those things happen, then it’s a wasted year, in my opinion. I don’t think that’s happening. I think — individually, as a team and as an organization — we know the adjustments we need to make. Now, we’ve just got to do them.”
Whether he is taking a short break on a vacation in Sicily with Olivia Dunne or staying at home, Skenes will have plenty of time to prepare for next season.
