Puka Nacua Injury: What Happened To Rams Star WR?

LA Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua sustained a foot injury during Week 6’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. He might be gone for the season, given how he was holding his left ankle after his leaping catch attempt to break the pass and deny a potential interception in the second quarter.

The Rams receiver was helped off the field by the trainers. The Rams have yet to reveal the extent of his injury. Apart from Nacua, the Rams were hit further after running back Blake Corum also exited the game with an ankle injury.

Nacua is the NFL leader with 52 catches and 588 receiving yards this season. With his latest foot injury, let’s take a look at his injury history.

    Puka Nacua Injury History

Puka Nacua has suffered several injuries over the years, including during his time in college with Washington. Among several ailments, he suffered a broken foot, ankle injury and another unspecified leg injury.

Last year, the receiver suffered a knee injury during training camp on August 4. Nacua fell during a team drill and was “slow” to get up before finishing practice with his right knee wrapped in ice. He was eventually placed on injured reserve due to a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) sprain. He returned in Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Sean McVay Impressed With Puka Nacua in 2025

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has been consistent in his praise for Puka Nacua this season. The wide receiver is enjoying a great season, and his performances are improving week after week.

Earlier this month, McVay praised the wide receiver following his impressive performance in the game against the Indianapolis Colts. He had 13 receptions for 170 yards and a touchdown.

“I think play style, toughness, demeanor,” McVay said. “You see the improvement that he’s made, but when you look at the aggressive hands through the catch point, the ability to be able to create separation, create after the catch, being at your best in the most pivotal moments. He’s doing everything that you want. I think like [Quarterback] Matthew [Stafford] said after the game, I think his play style is exactly what we’re looking for.”

Puka Nacua’s latest injury could affect the Rams’ positive start to the season. It remains to be seen how long the receiver will be out of action.
