Head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have not had the season they hoped for. After taking a step into Big 12 championship contention last year, the team has taken a big step back following the departure of two-way star Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
However, playing against the No. 22-ranked Iowa State Cyclones on Friday, the Buffaloes pulled off an upset. They won the game 24-17, giving them their third win of the year. There is now hope that the Buffaloes could finish the season strong and with a winning record.
This win excited Deion Sanders’ daughter, Shelomi Sanders. With the Buffaloes pulling ahead in the fourth quarter, Shelomi posted a video to her Instagram story showing her excitement, but she muted it.

Then, in the next video, while she was watching the Purdue vs. Minnesota game, she explained that she had to mute herself because she was getting a little crazy.
“Had to mute myself got a lil crazy,” Shelomi Sanders wrote.

The Buffaloes started the game with a strong first quarter, emerging with a 7-0 lead. However, they let the Cyclones get back in the game and take the lead in the second quarter with a field goal and a touchdown. As a result, they headed into halftime down 10-7.
The third quarter was then back and forth, but the Buffaloes took the lead back 21-17. Deion Sanders’ defense held strong in the fourth quarter, and they added a field goal to win 24-17.

What Does This Win Mean for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes?
Unfortunately for the Colorado Buffaloes, this win does not mean that Deion Sanders’ squad will be back in Big 12 championship contention. The team has already lost three conference games, which likely eliminates it from championship contention. However, it could have an impact on the Buffaloes’ season.
As things were going, it did not look like the team was going to qualify for a bowl game. However, by pulling off an upset over one of the top teams in the Big 12, the Buffaloes now have a much better chance to qualify for the second-straight year. That has not been accomplished by the team since 2005.
