The No. 15-ranked Michigan Wolverines entered yesterday with the expectation of picking up a win over the unranked USC Trojans. However, the game did not go as they expected. The Trojans took control of the game and had a consistent offensive output throughout, winning 31-13. This handed the Wolverines their second loss of the season, and could result in the team falling out of the AP Top 25 Poll.
While this was a disappointing loss for the Wolverines, there is no doubt that the team still has plenty of support. One person who still supports them is Grace Harbaugh. She is the daughter of former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. Despite the team’s loss, she posted a photo showing her support on her Instagram story on Saturday night. She included a photo with several Michigan championship rings on her fingers with a three-word caption.
“Go blue always,” Grace Harbaugh wrote.

Jim Harbaugh was the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines from 2015 to 2023. In that time, he had plenty of success with the team, leading them to Big Ten Championships in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In his final year with the team in 2023, he helped lead the team to a national championship.

Michigan Has Struggled to Get Back to Its Former Glory Since the Departure of Jim Harbaugh
Following the 2023 championship-winning season, Jim Harbaugh left the Michigan Wolverines for the NFL. He took the head coaching job with the Los Angeles Chargers. In his first season with the team last season, he helped them win 11 games and reach the playoffs before losing to the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card Game.
Michigan has not had the same success since Harbaugh’s departure. Sherrone Moore took over as head coach, and the team had a poor 2024 season. The team finished with an 8-5 record and was effectively eliminated from playoff contention halfway through the season after losing three of its first seven games.
This season, the Wolverines appeared to be in a much better position. They won four of their first five games, only losing to No. 6-ranked Oklahoma in Week 2. However, this loss to USC likely puts the team’s playoff hopes in jeopardy. If the Trojans do not win out for the rest of the season, it is unlikely that they stand much of a chance of qualifying.
