Caitlin Clark has made waves with her talent ever since her debut with the Iowa Hawkeyes. After breaking multiple records in college, Clark was drafted as the No. 1 pick by the Indiana Fever in 2024.
Clark took the league by storm in her rookie season. She won the Rookie of the Year award as she set the WNBA rookie single-season scoring record with 769 points. Clark also smashed the single-game assists record with 19, while leading all rookies in scoring, steals, and free-throw percentage.
Other than her on-court talent, Caitlin Clark has also won fans’ hearts with her off-court activities. A big football fanatic, she has made countless appearances at games. With her friendship with superstar Taylor Swift and fandom for the Kansas City Chiefs, Clark has shown full support for Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ team.
Recently, Caitlin Clark and a bunch of Indiana Fever stars were invited to an NFL game. The Indianapolis Colts welcomed Clark, Natasha Howard, Aari McDonald, and Makayla Timpson. The Fever stars were honored with custom Colts jerseys. To show her loyalty to the Chiefs, Clark declined to wear the jersey and just posed with it.
One Fever star who would have loved to be at the Colts game is Sophie Cunningham. She has revealed how she is turning into a Colts fan and reacted to Clark not wearing the jersey.
On the recent episode of the ‘Show Me Something’ podcast, Sophie Cunningham said (10:28):
“I’m not surprised by it. I’m not ’cause you know what? Everyone’s always trying to get her to like wear something or do something, only for her to be like, ‘Yeah, I’m here but I’m gonna represent the Chiefs, baby.'”
“I did go to a Colts game and I think we talked about it. It was awesome. Like I’m actually kind of turning into a Colts fan a little bit. Like they’re they I like their players. I like them. I would say I’m totally a bandwagon-er ’cause I just got traded to Indie and I’ve never watched the Colts in my life. But when I did go there, everyone was so nice and like the beer and food were so good too,” she added.
Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever’s Resilient Season
As much as a team would like to rely on a player like Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever has shown that basketball is a team game after all. Their season was in peril when a bunch of their starting stars, including Clark, got injured. There were low expectations for a deep playoff run from the group.

There was a lot of speculation around the WNBA trying to hide Clark’s injury, which fueled a resilient and hungry team. In times of need, stars like Sophie Cunningham, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell made invaluable contributions. Unfortunately, Fever fell short against an inspired Las Vegas Aces, led by A’ja Wilson.
Fever lost in the fifth game of the semifinals series. A’ja was on a mission. Can she now lead the Aces to a WNBA title?
