Steve Sarkisian Dealt Positive Injury News As Arch Manning’s Teammate Expected To Play In Red River Rivalry Matchup

Arch Manning will have Parker Livingstone as a target for this weekend’s Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma. For a while, there was a fear that Livingstone, who seemingly suffered a lower leg injury in Texas’s Saturday defeat to Florida, would be unavailable for the rivalry game in Week 7. It would be an important blow for a Longhorns team that has struggled enough as it is.

Parker Livingstone, with 13 catches for 279 yards and three touchdowns, is Texas’s leading receiver this season so far. He has been averaging 21.5 yards per catch. In the second quarter against the Gators, Livingstone caught a 33-yard pass from Manning, but then received a hit to his right leg from defensive back Devin Moore. He had to initially be helped off the field, but was then able to return to the field in the first half. However, he missed the entire second half of the game.

However, right from the get-go, it seemed like the receiver only suffered a minor injury and would be back for Week 7.

“Just couldn’t quite return,” Sarkisian said of Livingstone following the Florida game. “I don’t think he has anything serious.”

X-rays have ruled out a major injury for Parker Livingstone, and according to the latest reporting from Pete Nakos at On3, he will be available on Saturday.

What Are The Odds for Arch Manning’s Texas in The Red River Rivalry Against Texas?

The Texas Longhorns face possibly the most crucial engagement of their season so far next week, when they play No. 6 Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl Stadium this Saturday. While entering the season, the Longhorns were certainly the clear favorites; that is no longer the case.

Despite their 3-2 record and their unranked status, the bookies still have the Longhorns as 1.5-point favorites. And the ESPN game predictor gives them a 60.6% chance of winning the encounter. This is probably due to the absence of quarterback John Mateer, who’s recovering from hand surgery.
