Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence Invites Travis Hunter to His Birthday

Lawrence celebrated his 26th birthday the same day he led the Jaguars to a thrilling win over the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs. The quarterback completed 18 of 25 passes for 221 yards with one touchdown against one interception. He also made things count while rushing for two scores, gaining 54 yards on 10 carries on that offensive front.

He had a good rapport going with reigning Heisman winner Travis Hunter. The rookie recorded his best game of the season as a receiver, hauling in three catches for 64 yards. This included a 44-yard catch, leaping between two Chiefs defenders to secure the ball.

“I was running my route. I went into motion, and then by the time I looked back, I’ve seen him on the ground,” Hunter said after the game about the catch. “So I look back and I look back again. He was up running. I was like, ‘Oh, touchdown!’”

This was followed by a touchdown, which tied the game 14 apiece in the third quarter. As a cornerback, Hunter contributed with two solo tackles and a pass defended. In the final minute of the game, Lawrence was quick to think on his feet as he made a rush to the goal line rather than passing to go ahead 31-28 and eventually secured the win.
