Deion Sanders was asked if he wants to coach in the NFL, and the Colorado Buffaloes’ head coach reiterated that he doesn’t want to. However, this time, the dynamics are interesting with Shedeur Sanders falling behind Dillon Gabriel in the Cleveland Browns’ depth chart.
Shedeur was picked by the Browns in the fifth round. He made the 53-man roster after an impressive preseason performance against the Carolina Panthers, but despite Joe Flacco taking the bench, it’s the fellow rookie from Oregon who has been given the nod to start games.
Amid this, on ‘Good Morning America’, Coach Prime was asked once again if he’s thinking of coaching an NFL team. Like all the times, Sanders pointed out that the discipline and the money involved were too much for his harsh leadership.
“No. No. Not at this point. No. No. I don’t want to coach in the NFL,” Sanders said (21:24). “I would because the grown men… like it’s already enough dealing with college kids who are making money who may not love the game but they love the check. You think I’m going to want to deal with a grown man who’s doing that, and I can’t get rid of them?”

Deion Sanders Positive on Shedeur Sanders’ Future With The Browns
After Joe Flacco ran out of favor, Dillon Gabriel was elevated to the starting role with Shedeur Sanders remaining a third-string quarterback on the depth chart. As such, it doesn’t appear Sanders will get to start for the Browns with Deshaun Watson also expected to join the roster at some point this season.
Despite the odds, Deion Sanders believes Shedeur will get his opportunity soon. During his appearance on the New Heights podcast, Coach Prime said:
“Be patient and be ready. You got to be ready when it’s time. But when it’s time, you’re going to know. And it’s coming up. I got a prediction. I ain’t telling nobody. I got a feeling when it’s going to go down. But it’s going to go down this year. … He’s going to get a shot.”
It remains to be seen if Deion’s prediction about Shedeur Sanders turns out to be true in the near future.
