Cardi B has at last clarified what ultimately ended her marriage to Offset. The rapper opened up about her relationship with Offset with Jay Shetty on his “On Purpose” podcast and didn’t shy away from talking about the emotional harm her relationship did to her mental health.
About her separation, Cardi also highlighted that she hit rock bottom in the final months of her marriage. The stress from her work circumstances and watching her relationship deteriorate caused her genuine distress.
“I felt the love dying.From my end, from his end. I was very lonely because I chose to be lonely,” Cardi told Shetty on the Podcast.
“I was saying, ‘You know what? I can’t go through this anymore,” she explained. “I have to put a stop to it.’ But when I said I was going to put a stop to it — because you can say you’re going to put a stop to it, and you could go a month without being around somebody. It’s not when you say so. It’s when your heart says so” she further elaborated.
According to Cardi, she also kept making herself promises that she would later break. She would not reach out to him for at least a month. She would not easily forgive him, and she would not slip into her prior habits. But no matter how much her head believed it was over, her heart just wasn’t done fighting.
Offset Reportedly Set to Receive 70/30 Split in Spousal Support
Last August, the 32-year-old mother of three initiated divorce proceedings from Offset. Since then, things have become complicated as both parties have released claims through social media and legal public documents.
Recent reports claim that the two have struck a spousal support settlement whereby Offset is entitled to a 70/30 split of their shared expenses. The deal purportedly is worth millions and would finalize both parties’ lives.

Offset hasn’t stayed quiet about his version of events either. He’s publicly claimed that Cardi walked out on him, leaving him to care for their children. He’s also alleged that she got pregnant by another man while they were still married, referencing her rumored relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs.
