Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving is suffering from not one, but multiple injuries ahead of Week 6, raising concern from fans and fantasy managers alike. The Bucs are taking on the Seattle Seahawks this week, and the big question is will Irving be able to compete?
Bucky Irving Injury Status: What Happened to Buccaneers RB?
The Bucs running back reportedly got himself injured during that loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, around the end of the second quarter. Irving went down hard after a tackle from Philadelphia’s Calais Campbell, and this was when many believed he sprained his foot. He had 102 rushing yards and also caught a 72-yard touchdown pass in that loss to Philly.
He would ultimately finish the game and play well during the second half, but he was experiencing some pain in his foot, so the team got him to have it checked out. He reportedly had a sprain and was seen walking around with an injury boot to help take the load off his injured foot.
That was not all, however, as Irving also apparently did not disclose that he also injured his shoulder. Soon, it was discovered that had suffered from shoulder subluxation, and this injury is considered even more serious than his foot sprain.
His injury is causing even more problems to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the team suffering from multiple injuries during the season, including left tackle Tristan Wirfs, wide receiver Chris Godwin, right tackle Luke Goedeke and right guard Cody Mauch.
Is Bucky Irving Playing Week 6?
The simple answer to whether Bucky Irving will be playing during their Week 6 showdown against the Seattle Seahawks will be a no. He is expected to miss at least two weeks at least due to those two injuries, already missing Week 6 and 6. As for Week 7, expect Tampa Bay to adopt a wait-and-see approach as the team could play it safe to prevent any further injury for the running back.
Bucky Irving Fantasy Outlook
Before he got injured in Week 4, Bucky Irving had been very consistent for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as he was a very reliable running back. This also makes him very attractive to many fantasy managers. However, his injuries would mean that he will be missing this week, so it would be best to sit him.
It is possible that he will be back by Week 7, though managers should also play it safe and have a wait-and-see approach when playing him.
