Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is looking to lead his team to its third straight win on Monday Night Football, as they face a usually daunting Kansas City Chiefs team that has had the shakiest of starts to their season in years.
The game represents an opportunity for Jacksonville to assert its status as an up-and-coming franchise by taking advantage of a wounded giant like Kansas City. All in all, it could prove to be an important day for Lawrence.
It’s already an important day for the signal-caller, though, as the Monday Night Football encounter coincides with his birthday. Born on October 6, 1999, Lawrence is turning 26 years old tonight.
Someone who wasted no time in celebrating his special day was his wife, Marissa. During the pregame proceedings, Marissa Lawrence posted a video of her husband entering EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville to her Instagram story. The story showed Trevor Lawrence walking in Jaguars apparel while holding a coffee cup, and it had the following caption:
“Birthday boy has arrived.”
Earlier in the day, she also posted a picture of him holding their daughter, Shae Lynn Lawrence. In that post, she wrote:
“Game day snuggles and birthday snuggles 💙. We love you so much!! Happy birthday.”
Trevor Lawrence on How He Expects to Tackle Kansas City’s Defensive Play
Trevor Lawrence will be the first to admit that the Kansas City Chiefs are a defensively sound team under defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
During the pregame press conference, he said:
“Yeah, he’s a great D-coordinator and play caller, and his defenses are always. I think it’s just the feeling of chaos of the defense. You never quite know what they’re going to bring because they’ve shown so many different things, but they’re pretty, I shouldn’t say pretty sound, they’re very sound defensively, especially for all the different pressures they bring.”
Trevor Lawrence added that, unlike other teams that play with flexibility and rotation in defense, the Chiefs don’t show obvious weaknesses or routes of attack. However, he also said that the Jaguars have an opportunity to take down a wounded giant, as the Chiefs have ruled the NFL over the last few years, but come in with a 2-2 record.

For Trevor Lawrence, everything he needs to do is maintain his concentration for 60 minutes and avoid committing obvious mistakes.
