Stefon Diggs Makes Feelings Very Clear On “Personal” Motive In Massive SNF Win vs Josh Allen’s Bills

Led by quarterback Drake Maye and wide receiver Stefon Diggs, the New England Patriots took the Buffalo Bills of Josh Allen 23-20 on Sunday Night Football. Maye threw for 273 yards, while having a completion percentage of 73.3%. His best weapon on the attack was Diggs, who recorded 146 receiving yards in 10 catches.

However, the touchdowns came courtesy of short runs by running back Rhamondre Stevenson. He had two of them, with the rest of the points being scored by kicker Andy Borregales.

For Stefon Diggs, a former Buffalo Bill, there was an extra competitive aspect to the game and it meant a lot to him personally. He said so to the press in the aftermath, although he admitted there was nothing malicious to it. He’s just that competitive:

“100 percent. Obviously, I love those guys. Still got a good relationship with those guys. Got a lot of respect for ‘em. But I love the game of football more. And every time I go out here, I’m trying to prove it. Not only to them, but to myself.”

With the win, New England moved to a positive record of 3-2. Their divisional mark is even more positive, with a 2-0.

Josh Allen Admonishes Himself And The Buffalo Bills In Defeat To The New England Patriots

While on the Patriots side of things, it was all smiles for Drake Maye, Stefon Diggs, and company, on the Bills side, it was the exact opposite. The first to admit they didn’t deserve to win was Josh Allen, who said the following after the defeat on Sunday Night Football:

“We just played sloppy. Not going to win a football game turning the ball over three times. That’s just bad football. We just did not play good tonight.”

The Bills fumbled twice in the first half of the game, although those turnovers didn’t lead to touchdowns by the Patriots. More egregious was an interception thrown by Allen late in the third quarter, which led to a touchdown by New England early in the fourth quarter.

Allen threw for 253 yards, with two touchdowns, an interception, and a completion percentage of 70.9%.
