Eric Collins made his long-awaited NFL debut on Fox Sports’ broadcast of the Panthers-Dolphins game. And it didn’t take long for him to go viral. Known for his high-energy calls as the voice of the Charlotte Hornets, Collins brought that same intensity and rhythm to the football booth.
His expressive tone, fast-paced delivery, and signature excitement gave the game a fresh, almost NBA-like flair that immediately stood out to viewers used to more traditional NFL commentary.
Clips of Collins’ calls quickly spread across social media, with fans praising his ability to inject enthusiasm into even routine plays. However, not everyone was a fan of him screaming every play at the top of his lungs.
Ari Meirov posted a clip from the game with the caption:
“Charlotte Hornets announcer Eric Collins is calling the Panthers-Dolphins game on FOX, and it has been electric.”

One fan instantly disagreed, stating that the experience hasn’t been electric and that he doesn’t need to scream every play.
“No it hasn’t. He doesn’t need to scream every play,” the fan wrote.
“It was so bad. He was yelling during mundane plays. Had to put the game on mute,” a fan wrote.
“Eric Collins got me in the living room overstimulated like a MF,” a fan wrote.
“This is so much better than hearing him have an orgasm on a miles bridges fast break dunk,” a fan wrote.
“worst announcer in all of sports,” a fan wrote.
“let him call the super bowl and im not trolling,” a fan wrote.
Collins’ first outing received mixed reviews, which shouldn’t be disheartening because calling games in the NBA is different from how it’s done in the NFL. Hopefully, the NFL fans will soon start unanimously appreciating the energy Collins brings.
The Miami Dolphins Suffered Another Loss
The Carolina Panthers pulled off a stunning comeback win over the Miami Dolphins, erasing a 17-point deficit to grab a 27–24 victory. Running back Rico Dowdle was the difference-maker, rushing for 206 yards and a touchdown in a breakout performance.
Quarterback Bryce Young overcame a shaky start, finishing with 198 yards, two touchdowns, and a clutch go-ahead score to rookie tight end Mitchell Evans in the final minutes.
The Dolphins had full control early, with Tua Tagovailoa throwing three touchdowns and Jaylen Waddle racking up 110 yards and a long TD. But Miami’s offense cooled off in the second half, while Carolina’s defense locked in.
The Dolphins are now 1-4 this season. The Panthers, on the other hand, clinched their second victory of the season after a shaky start.
