The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have received even more bad news in regards to their star running back, Bucky Irving, who is already dealing with a foot injury. As it turns out, he was also suffering from a shoulder injury, which he did not report to the team until Tuesday last week. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that this shoulder injury may be more of a problem than that foot injury he has been suffering from.
Turns out that Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving’s shoulder injury, which he did not report to the team until Tuesday last week, is more of an issue than his sprained foot, per sources. As a result, he will be missing the game against the Seattle Seahawks and he is also expected to miss next week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, as he nurses both injuries. For now, the Bucs coaching staff is employing a “wait and see” approach to the two injuries and will likely miss a few practices after the Seahawks game.
What Happened to Bucky Irving?
For his foot injury, Irving was diagnosed with a left foot sprain, which now has him walking around with a walking boot. He suffered that foot injury during that loss to the Philadelphia Eagles after he got tackled hard by the Eagles’ Calais Campbell near the end of the first half.
He actually finished the game and played well in the second half, but the team had him get two MRI’s to check on his foot just in case. This resulted in the team placing him in a walking boot, resulting him in missing practice. It was then discovered that he also has a shoulder injury, making things more complicated for him.
Bucky Irving Fantasy Outlook
As for Fantasy managers, expect him to miss multiple games, so it is best to bench him for now. Unless he is hiding any further injuries, as he did with his shoulder injury, expect him to miss games until Week 6 or 7.
For now, managers may choose to start Rachaad White as Tampa Bay’s running back, and he is also the team’s top passing-down back. Bucs reserves Sean Tucker and Josh Williams might also get their respective chances to shine with Irving out.
