Florida State Seminoles coach Mike Norvell is in the hot seat with his program, with the criticism being brought up in his team’s recent outing. On Saturday, Oct. 4, coach Norvell and the Seminoles were matched up against coach Mario Cristobal’s Miami Hurricanes, led by the likes of veteran quarterback Carson Beck, for their week five game of the early 2025 college football campaign at home, the Doak Campbell Stadium.
But, unfortunately for Norvell and the rest of the Seminoles faithful, Beck and the Hurricanes were able to ignite an early charge and go for an early 14-3 lead by halftime in the game. This eventually ballooned to an abysmal 28-3 deficit for Florida State, as despite their explosive 19-0 run in the fourth quarter, the gap was just too big and the Hurricanes left Tallahassee, Florida, with the triumph, 28-22.
With this, several college football fans and spectators are calling for the firing of coach Norvell from the helm of the Seminoles’ coaching staff.
“When do the Seminoles fire Norvell,” one fan questioned.

“Norvell is such a fraud. Fire his *ss yesterday,” another fan claimed.
“Please fire Norvell for the love of God,” another user pleaded.
“Trash team. Fire Norvell? Anyone? Anyone??,” a user said.
Other users, especially the Florida State faithful, are hoping that the program brings back former head coach Jimbo Fisher.
“It’s time to fire Norvell. We got lucky with ‘Bama. I want Jimbo back now. God willing we get him,” one fan shared.
“Head to locker room. And fire minor league Mike. Jimbo is in town. Hire him back,” another fan wrote.
“Day 1 of asking Jimbo Fisher to come to FSU,” a fan posted.
Norvell is currently in his fifth year as the main shot-caller for the overall Seminoles football program. In the 2024 season, he was unable to uncork a positive campaign in Florida State as the team finished with just a 2-10 overall record (1-7 ACC), and finished dead last in their conference standings. With this, they were unable to compete in any postseason matchups.

As mentioned earlier by several Florida State Seminoles supporters, former head coach Jimbo Fisher was in attendance during the squad’s defeat against Carson Beck and the Miami Hurricanes. In a video then published by @accnetwork on X/Twitter, it shows Fisher joining the pre-game broadcast right outside the Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida, as he was showered with love by an oozing home Florida State crowd.
Fisher was previously the Seminoles’ head tactician from 2010 to 2017 before he transferred to the Texas A&M Aggies in 2018. He spent six years in the program before stepping down in 2023.
