LOOK: UCLA OC Jerry Neuheisel Shares Intimate Moments With Wife Nicole After Historic Upset vs James Franklin’s Penn State

Newly minted UCLA Bruins offensive coordinator Jerry Neuheisel made all the headlines of the 2025 college football season recently. This is because he was one of the driving forces when interim coach Tim Skipper’s Bruins beat coach James Franklin‘s Penn State Nittany Lions for their week five matchup of the year at home, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, by five points, 42-37.

Many from the overall football landscape are calling this the biggest upset of the early 2025 campaign thus far, especially since the Bruins made history by becoming the first 0-4 team in the last 40 years to defeat a top 10 nationally ranked program in the regular season. As Neuheisel presumably stamps his imprint as the offense shot-caller for UCLA, he then went viral with a video uploaded by @YahooSports on X/Twitter.

The video then shows Neuheisel running to his wife, Nicole Knox, as celebrations went underway in the Rose Bowl and carried her upwards as they embraced. The couple then went around the field in celebration, visibly smiling and laughing together as the Bruins crowd rejoiced around them.

Perhaps a different kind of campaign could be in the works for the Bruins, as with the first win of the season under their belt, Neuheisel and Co. now hold a 1-4 overall record on the year. Their next assignment will be the gutsy Michigan State Spartans, who they will face on Saturday, Oct. 11, in away territory, the Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan.

Jerry Neuheisel Admits That He Has Never Practiced With The Headset Prior To The Upset Victory

During the post-game press conference, in a video posted by @CFBONFOX on X/Twitter, Jerry Neuheisel admitted a “rookie” tendency that happened to him that fortunately did not affect the outcome of the game for the UCLA Bruins. In the clip, Neuheisel revealed that he had actually never practiced with the headset on prior to the win over the Penn State Nittany Lions, as it was his first time utilizing it.

“But all things you learn from, like, I hate to say this, but I had never practiced with the headset in terms of like the button to talk to the quarterback. So there’s like multiple times during the game I’m calling the play, but the headset’s flipped up ’cause I’m used to being a position coach and then all of a sudden I’m pressing the wrong part of the button trying to talk to him like it was a mess,” Neuheisel shared.

“Hopefully we’ll get that cleaned up by next week, but just one of those days we just, it just all kind of fell into place,” he concluded.
