Carson Beck’s journey from Georgia to Miami was one filled with emotions. The former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback injured himself during the SEC championship game against the Texas Longhorns last season.
The quarterback felt a sudden pop in his right elbow after taking a hit. While he continued to play by handing the ball, as he was not able to grip the football before eventually exiting the game. A day later, it was confirmed through MRI that the quarterback had suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament, making him and his family anxious about his future.
In the offseason, Beck opted to transfer and landed in Coral Gables as he was tasked to lead the Hurricanes offense left by Cam Ward, who departed to the NFL as the No. 1 pick to the Tennessee Titans.
In a revealing chat with ESPN, Beck recalled the gruesome injury and his journey that landed him in Miami. He got emotional while saying:
“The past eight months have been so hard. I’m just so blessed to be out here to have an opportunity to play again.”
Beck received support from wide receiver CJ Daniels, who called Beck their leader and spoke about the chemistry he developed with the signal-caller.
“We had a point to prove, and I can’t be more grateful for Carson being the leader of it.”

Between Recovery And Getting Back On Field So Much Happened In Carson Beck’s Personal Life
A lot has changed after Carson Beck moved to Miami. While he was recovering, his Lamborghini and a Mercedes were reportedly stolen from the home he was sharing with girlfriend Hanna Cavinder. Neither the cars were recovered, and shortly after, his relationship with Cavinder ended.
Beck said the aftermath has been difficult to deal with off the field, citing false accusations and reports.
“You make mistakes as a person, but it sucks that you have to go through something like that with someone that you care about, and now it’s all over the Internet,” Beck said. “Half of what you see in the media is true. Half of what you see is not true. So, people pick their side of the story and run with it. The people that know the truth know the truth. But it’s been difficult.”
However, Beck has done incredibly well since the season started, propelling the Hurricanes to a 4-0 record as they play the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday. Beck has attempted 112 passes, completing 82 of them for 972 yards, with seven touchdowns and three interceptions.
