Luis Severino’s offseason came early, as the Athletics didn’t qualify for the postseason. As such, he is spending quality time with his wife, Rosmaly, and their three children, Abigail, Isabella, and Luis Jr.
On Thursday, Rosmaly posted several photos from the family’s time inside a pool. Rosmaly wore a blue bikini. In one photo, she can be seen taking in the sunlight while her feet are in the water. In another photo, Severino, Rosmaly, and their two kids were captured candidly.
“The best memories are the one we make together,” Rosmaly wrote in the caption.
The above-mentioned family moment comes after Severino completed his first year of a three-year, $67 million contract signed with the Athletics ahead of the 2025 season. He started 29 games, going 8-11 and holding a 4.54 ERA to go along with 124 strikeouts in 162.2 innings pitched.
Luis Severino Once Highlighted Importance of Family, Especially Rosmaly, After Reaching Baseball Milestone
In August 2024, Luis Severino registered his first complete game shutout against the Miami Marlins. It was his first since May 2, 2018. While talking to MLB.com, Severino revealed the first person he talked to after reaching the milestone.
“My entire family – mom and dad, my kids, my wife – who have been with me through this whole process,” Severino said. “Bad season, good season. The people that stuck with me. Not only that, the Mets fans. They have been really good to me. I think that outing was like a playoff game to me. Everybody was yelling my name. They wanted me to do well for the team. It was one of those games where you go out there to compete like a walk-off game. Something like that.”
Severino didn’t stop there. He gave a special shoutout to his wife, saying he is grateful to her for staying with him through tough times.
“My wife is the person who has always been with me. She knows every part of my body that hurts,” the right-hander said. “I think our faith is the most important thing for us, so she always believed that no matter what happened, I would always come back to get better. I’ve seen the trust that she has in me.”
Rosmaly Frechel and Luis Severino have reportedly been married since 2019. The duo shares three children, Abigail, Isabella, and Luis Jr. Rosmaly is also a mother to Chanel, whom she has from her previous relationship.
