Caitlin Clark made headlines this week, along with Napheesa Collier, who sounded off on WNBA leadership in her exit interview for the season. Collier revealed some of her personal conversations with WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert. She also questioned Engelbert about player safety, salaries, and refereeing in the league. The Minnesota Lynx player defended some of the newer stars in the league, such as Caitlin Clark.
Collier disclosed some controversial comments made by Engelbert. According to Collier, the commissioner said Clark should be grateful for the WNBA platform, without which, she would not be earning over $60 million a year. Despite this direct mention and attention to her, Clark had refused to comment on the matter. However, she has now opened up about the whole ordeal, though some fans are not so pleased with her response.
“I have great respect for Phee, and I think she made a lot of very valid points,” Clark said at Indiana Fever exit interviews on Thursday.

“Nope stfu because when it first happened, everyone spoke but you then said no comment. Now today this bullsh*t man she is pissing me off,” one fan got enraged.
“Said a whole lot of nothing,” another fan said.
“Took too long,” another complained.

“Caitlin don’t give a damn about none of that league/CBA stuff lol,” another commented.
“Girl bye. You sit up here trying to coach while you are injured and now you have nothing to say,” another user showed discontent.
Caitlin Clark Reacts to Napheesa Collier-Cathy Engelbert Fiasco
In the Indiana Fever’s exit interview, Caitlin Clark finally broke her silence and weighed in on the ongoing controversy.
“First of all I have a lot of, I have great respect for Phee [Napheesa Collier] and I think she made a lot of very valid points,” Clark said. “And you know, I think what people need to understand, we need great leadership in this time across all levels. This is straight up the most important moment in this league’s history. This league’s been around for 25 plus years and this is a moment we have to capitalize on.”
A reporter asked Clark whether she knew what Napheesa Collier was about to say or if she had earlier heard what Engelbert had said about the Fever star. Caitlin said she hadn’t. Should she have voiced her opinion earlier? Or should she have said something more? What do you think of Caitlin Clark’s comments?
