AJ Brown’s Cryptic Tweet After Bucs Win Draws Bizarre Comparison From Travis Kelce: “You’re 4-0 Boss”

One would think that being 4-0 would be enough to keep almost anyone happy. Not Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown, who seems to think his role in the so far perfect season of his team hasn’t been big enough.

Last week, following Philadelphia’s victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, AJ Brown went on X to share a cryptic tweet in which he seems to signal that he feels undervalued by the Eagles:

“If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.” Said the tweet shared by Brown

In the most recent episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast “New Heights”, the pair took some time to address the controversy. It seems Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce just can’t understand this attitude from the receiver when the team is winning.

Travis Kelce made a comment that pointed out that he understands feeling this way; he just doesn’t understand why he feels this way when, overall, the team is doing quite well:

“You’re 4-0 boss. Come on man.. It’s frustrating for AJ right now clearly, he’s going to social media to show it. When I show my frustration is when we aren’t rolling as an offense.. But it’s also really hard for me to get mad when we’re winning. I don’t find that energy when we’re winning, putting up points, and winning football games.”

It’s a complaint widely shared by many analysts and fans alike, who have seen AJ Brown’s lashing out as petty behavior. Interestingly, his brother Jason Kelce, a former teammate of Brown, went to the player’s defense and said he should be getting the ball more:

“I think that he should be upset that he’s not being utilized in this offense. I think that is a normal feeling, and I think he should feel comfortable explicitly saying that to the coaches and the players within that locker room,” Said Jason Kelce “I don’t think that that’s a d— move, a selfish move. A.J. knows the level of player he is. … Everybody should be upset that A.J.’s not getting the ball.”

    AJ Brown’s Stats This Season

AJ Brown’s complaint is even more bizarre when one dissects his offensive numbers. While he isn’t the team’s leading receiver, that’s DeVonta Smith with 158 yards so far, he has been the most targeted this year. He has been targeted 28 times, to Smith’s 20.

He has slightly fewer yards than Smith, with 151 receiving yards. He has caught 14 passes, and one of those has been a touchdown reception.
