A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces’ season looked in trouble during the months of June and July. But Wilson promised the Aces fans that the team will their all to reach the WNBA playoffs.
The Aces went on a 16-game winning streak and qualified for the playoffs. Dawn Staley’s former player stood on her promise and now Aces have qualified for the finals.
Another team that had a fairytale of a season were the Indiana Fever. With Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson and more stars out injured, Fever qualifying for the WNBA playoffs and reaching the semifinals was nothing short of a miracle. One of the finest performers for the Fever throughout this run has been Aliyah Boston.
Aces and Fever’s semifinal went right down to the wire. Both teams gave their all and series went to game 5. Wilson and Boston took the game into overtime where Aces came out victorious 107-98. Nobody was prouder to see two South Carolina stars give their absolute best against each other.
Dawn Staley took to X and voiced her excitement. She said:
“Let me say this Aliyah Boston is the real deal! She lead. She produced. Her consistency throughout the season has been remarkable to witness. Her passing. It is just her 3rd season in the WNBA. Each year she’s gotten better…a testament of her work and will! MVP loading! Love AB!”

A’ja Wilson outscored everyone on the court with 35 points in 41 minutes. Aces’ Jackie Young also made a vital contribution with 32 points and 10 assists. Six Fever players who scored in double digits were Natasha Howard, Lexie Hull, Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston and Shey Peddy, whereas Odyssey Sims scored 27 points but it was in vain.

AJa got her in foul trouble during the press conference. Awesome game. Awesome series. I just wish AB didn’t get shafted last night. Other than that spectacular on both ends

She is tough. Super nice off the court but will break your neck and laugh on it. Love her game and demeanor.
