Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered a brutal injury in Monday’s 27-21 win over the New York Jets. After catching a pass near the sideline, Hill was tackled by a Jets defender. When he fell to the ground, he got tangled up with the Jets player and dislocated his left knee. This resulted in several torn ligaments, including his ACL, according to a report from insider Adam Schefter.
Hill needed to be carted off the field, and there was speculation that he could miss the rest of the season because of the injury. That still appears likely, but Hill posted on X on Wednesday morning, updating his fans with a heartfelt message.
“Surgery went great. Romans 8:18, ‘For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us,'” Tyreek Hill wrote.

What Injury Did Tyreek Hill Have?
Tyreek Hill’s injury took place on Monday during the Dolphins’ win over the Jets. He suffered a dislocated left knee and several torn ligaments, including his ACL. Hill has now undergone successful surgery, and he’s expected to rehab. However, according to his agent, he will not return this season.
“Went very well according to his doctors,” Tyreek Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus told insider Adam Schefter. “It’s about rehab, and he will play next season. The realistic goal is the start of the season.”
Rosenhaus added that there is no nerve damage or blood flow issues. Hill also did not break any bones.
While this is good for Hill’s long-term outlook, it does not help the Dolphins this season. Now, Miami will need to overcome the loss of its best player when it is already struggling.
While the Dolphins won on Monday, they had lost their first three games of the season. Now with Hill out for the year, it will be even more challenging for the team to recover for a playoff push. Ahead of the team’s Week 5 matchup against the Panthers, running back De’Von Achane said the team needs to have a “next man up” mentality.
