Deion Sanders’ Colorado was fined a massive amount of $50,000 for something their fans did during the Week 5 game against BYU.
The Colorado-BYU matchup was a close one, with the Cougars securing a nail-biting win with a 24-21 score.
The game was intense, which caused a moment from the Colorado fans that led to the Big 12 punishing them with a fine.
A clip of Buffaloes fans chanting “F*** the Mormons,” went viral after the game along with more disrespectful slang.
Brett Yorker shared that there is no home for hateful and discriminatory language in the Big 12 conference, and while the University apologized for this, they would still fine them because of the conference policies, which didn’t sit well with fans.
“Also… who tf cares about what’s being said?? It’s college football… if BYU can’t take it, then don’t dish it out. BYU has been known for being uptight, stubborn, ignorant, cocky, and full of themselves because they classify themselves as a “high class university,” one fan commented.
“Wait. So does LSU just pre pay 1 million a year to the SEC, or is the Big 12 soft?” another fan questioned
“Was the chant pumped over the speakers? Cameras showed the chanters on the big screen? No one working at the stadium was sent to talk to the chanters? How is Colorado guilty,” a fan demanded answers.
“Sure Deion is cooked but at least Colorado is trashy,” another fan added.
“America was built on harassing the mormons it is a pastime,” a fan opined.
“This is ridiculous. All they did was make it to where every time BYU is on the road they hear the same thing. Fined for what drunk college students chant is ridiculous. What has happened to sports. Every celebration is a 15 yard penalty in the NFL and getting fined for fans?” another fan wrote.
NEW: Colorado has been fined $50k by the Big 12 for ‘inappropriate chants’ during the BYU game.

Deion Sanders Looks Back at Loss Against BYU
Colorado is still in the process of finding a rythm for themselves this year after losing star players like Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders and more.
After the winnable game that the Buffaloes lost on Saturday, Deion Sanders told the media that he is upset with a few things.
“I can’t say I’m highly upset,” Sanders said. “I’m upset with a few things. But sometimes when it seems like you had more talent, but you didn’t quite win the game, it makes it feel somewhat awkward. We had opportunities, a tremendous amount of opportunities, but nevertheless we didn’t cash in on it. And sometimes it felt like the moment was just too big for some of our athletes. And they gotta do something about that.”
