Bill Belichick’s first season at North Carolina has already been a rocky one. The Tar Heels are off to a 2–2 start, dropping games to UCF and TCU in lopsided fashion. The early losses have raised questions about how quickly Belichick can adapt to the college game.
Pressure has started to build, with fans and analysts pointing to the lack of consistency on both sides of the ball. Amid the uncertainty, Belichick stepped away for a short break. During UNC’s bye week, he was spotted on Nantucket, Massachusetts, with girlfriend Jordon Hudson.
The two enjoyed a low-key weekend, taking in the sights of the island, shopping, and relaxing before flying out on a private jet. Belichick kept his look simple while Hudson drew attention with her navy-blue sweater with a lobster decoration for the outing.

Their trip made headlines not just for the optics of Belichick traveling midseason, but also because of the broader scrutiny surrounding his hiring process at UNC. Belichick and Hudson have been in the spotlight since they confirmed their relationship earlier this year.
The pairing has fueled plenty of conversation, with the former Patriots coach’s personal life now intersecting with his new role on campus. While the attention has been heavy, Belichick has remained focused on football, insisting he can turn the season around.
The bye week getaway may have provided Belichick a chance to recharge, but the real test awaits this weekend. For UNC fans, the hope is that the next headlines will be about wins on the field rather than trips off it.

Jason Whitlock Believes Bill Belichick Isn’t Focused on Football
Bill Belichick’s personal life has drawn plenty of criticism over the last month. Many believe that he isn’t fit for college football and that his glory days are behind him. The current state of the Tar Heels isn’t helping restore his status either.
Jason Whitlock has been one of Belichick’s harshest critics. On his show, the media veteran has called out Belichick for not being focused on the game and getting attention due to his relationship with Jordon Hudson.
“I’m saying after one game, North Carolina should be figuring out, how do we get out from under Bill Belichick? It’s just one game, nah man,” Jason Whitlock said. “When that guy showed up with his 24-year-old girlfriend and she’s participating in interviews, she’s on field during spring practices, he’s on the beach with her on his feet, up in the air. When you saw that, it was, oh we got the wrong coach.”
“This guy is living out some sexual fantasy that he did not get to live out in his younger days when his life was devoted to football. He’s not into football, he’s not into no distractions. He is the distraction. College football, the whole NFL stoic Bill Belichick, it doesn’t work.”
