Drake Maye has quickly become the centerpiece of the New England Patriots’ offense. His play in just his second NFL season is showing why the franchise is so invested in him. Maye’s growth has been backed by a strong support system off the field, most notably, his wife, Ann Michael.
Her unwavering support has often been highlighted publicly, and following the Patriots’ latest 42-13 victory, she once again showed just how invested she is in celebrating his success.
Taking to Instagram, Ann Michael shared a series of pictures from the sidelines after New England’s dominant win over the Carolina Panthers. In one picture, she stood arm-in-arm with Maye, while another captured the couple sharing a kiss in the aftermath of the game.
Two other pictures featured Michael with her friends, all smiles as they soaked in the big win. Alongside the photos, she dropped a four-word message in the caption that perfectly summed up the moment.
“A happy game day!!!!❤️❤️❤️” Michael wrote.

The photos came after a game where Maye put together one of his most efficient performances yet. Against the Panthers, he completed 14 of 17 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns without turning the ball over, while also adding a rushing score.
That effort capped off a hot start to his 2025 campaign. Through the first four weeks, Maye has completed 91 of 123 passes for 988 yards, seven touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He’s also contributed on the ground with 98 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.
The recent performance was a huge turnaround from what Maye has been doing so far this season. Even though he has been effective throughout, he has made some costly mistakes for which he has been criticized in the media.
Drake Maye Received a New Nickname
On an episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, Simmons and Cousin Sal got into a discussion about Maye’s performance in the current season. Simmons stated that he appreciates a large part of his performances this season, but he can’t overlook the “stupid” mistakes he has made.
The conversation took a turn from there as Sal revealed that he had a new nickname for Maye and asked Simmons if he wanted to hear what it was. Once he got the nod from Simmons, Sal revealed the hilarious moniker.
“He’s not too young for me to give him a nickname that you’re not gonna love,” Sal said. “I’m ready for it, he probably deserves it,” Simmons responded. “Drake Maybe. You’ve got to say it like, Drake…Maybe?? Right? He may be good, I don’t know.”

Simmons had a good laugh as Sal was explaining why he chose this particular nickname. Even though he said that he’ll never call Maye by that nickname, he admitted that he liked it.
