Wide receiver Malik Nabers and the New York Giants were expected to be underdogs against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4. However, through halftime, they were ahead by the score of 13-10. Unfortunately for the Giants, the second half could be more challenging because of an injury to Nabers.
Nabers was carted off the field with 6:12 remaining in the second quarter. When he went up for a pass, his knee buckled upon landing, and he fell to the ground in pain. Cameras showed that Nabers was visibly upset. He exited the game immediately.

Before his injury, Nabers had made two receptions for 20 yards. Without him, the Giants could struggle to generate offense. Notably, it could be an issue for quarterback Jaxson Dart. Dart got his first start of his career against the Chargers on Sunday. Now, he will be without his star wide receiver in the second half of the game.
NFL Fantasy: How Does Malik Nabers’ Injury Affect the Giants’ Week 5 Outlook?
With Malik Nabers injured, it puts the Giants in an even worse spot than they were already in. Even if they pull off the upset over the Chargers, they will still be viewed as one of the weaker teams in the league. No official statement has been made on Nabers’ status for future weeks, but it would not be surprising if he misses time.
Nabers being out will hurt his fantasy owners, but also owners of many other Giants players. Nabers is arguably the most important offensive threat on the Giants. If he is not available, it will put pressure on the rest of the team. Jaxson Dart could struggle passing without a star receiver.
However, it could be a benefit to owners of the Giants’ running backs. If the team is not comfortable passing as often with Nabers out, running back Cam Skattebo could get even more action. So, fantasy owners are advised to keep an eye on Nabers’ status for next week.
The Giants are scheduled for a matchup against another weak team next week, the New Orleans Saints. Even with Nabers out, they could be the favorites in that game.
