Malik Nabers Getting Carted Off Field With Apparent Knee Injury Draws 5-Word Reaction from Former Bengals Star

Malik Nabers has been carted off during the New York Giants game against the Los Angeles Chargers. During the second quarter of the encounter, the wide receiver caught a deep pass by quarterback Jaxson Dart, but didn’t stand up afterwards. Nabers stayed on the ground and started holding his right knee.

Immediately, the team decided to cart Malik Nabers off the field to evaluate him in the locker room. While the team hasn’t made any announcement about the player’s situation, it was clear that the injury was a non-contact one, and it seems unlikely that Nabers will return to the field today.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Nabers is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday to check if he tore his right ACL, which is the leading hypothesis right now.

The situation caught the attention of former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson, better known as Chad OchoCinco. The former Cincinnati Bengals player took to X to write the following message:

“Prayers up for Malik Nabers 🙏🏾”

Nabers is in his second season in the NFL, having been drafted as the sixth overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, he earned Pro Bowl and PFWA All-Rookie Team selections. The wide receiver made a name for himself playing at LSU at the college level, earning Unanimous All-American and First Team All-SEC honors in 2023.

At the time he left the field, Nabers was the team’s leading receiver with two catches for 20 yards.

Los Angeles Chargers’ LT Joe Alt leaves game against New York Giants with suspected ankle injury

The Giants weren’t the only ones to lose an important player in the first half of their Sunday game. Their opponents, the Los Angeles Chargers, were forced to cart off left tackle Joe Alt due to what seems like an ankle injury.

Alt was the fifth overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, and like Nabers, he was a PFWA All-Rookie Team selection for last year. The former Notre Dame player was the Chargers’ starting right tackle last year but was forced to move to left tackle during the preseason due to a season-ending injury to starting left tackle Rashawn Slater, who tore his patellar tendon in training camp. The team has announced that the offensive lineman is questionable to return to the game.
