Lane Kiffin Shares 3-Word Reaction For Jaxson Dart as Former Ole Miss QB Takes Over In Giants Debut

Ex-Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is finally fulfilling his NFL dreams as he starts for the first time as the New York Giants’ QB1 for the matchup against Jim Harbaugh’s LA Chargers.

Dart got the opportunity as the Giants try to escape the disappointing 0-3 start to the 2025 college football season.

The ex-Ole Miss star was picked by the Giants as the 25th overall pick during the 2025 NFL draft and is now set to make a name for himself during his first start.

As the Giants enjoy the 10-3 lead in the second quarter, his ex Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin posted a picture of a football kept in a big ground with the caption, “Spot the ball.”

Before the Chargers matchup, Kiffin also shared some advice for Dart via ESPN:

“Just take it easy, relax,” Kiffin said. “This guy’s played a lot of football for a college guy, for a rookie, and in a lot of big games. Really take it one snap at a time and don’t try to do too much. I’m watching him warm up, and he looks like he’s trying to throw the ball through the wall already. I don’t know if he listened to me.”

Kiffin also drew comparisons between Hurts and Dart and said there are a lot of similarities between the two in the way they play, run with the ball and their passion for the game, which has to be controlled as NFL is a big stage.

The Ole Miss head coach also said the Chargers defense is really good and Dart has to be really composed early on and try not to do too much.

Lane Kiffin Has High Praise for Jaxson Dart Ahead of Chargers Game

During a conversation with David Pollack, Lane Kiffin praised Jaxson Dart, while crediting his family for raising him the way they did, saying his parents did a great job and they’re just awesome people to be around.

“Jackson, the time that he takes for little kids, you know, or teammate on defense as a backup, you know, and it’s so genuine and real. That’s how he won the team. He didn’t win the team by, you know, speeches, any of that. It’s just it’s who he is. It’s what what he does, you know, whether he when he first got here, you know, and Knox was here one time, my son, you know, he’d take him to lunch and I was always like, man, is he trying to impress the head coach, you know, like he’s not. He’s just pouring into people.”
