No. 5 Georgia started slow against No. 17 Alabama in the top SEC encounter of Week 5 of college football. In the first quarter of the game, the Crimson Tide held to the ball for six and a half minutes and scored on a six-yard touchdown pass by Ty Simpson to cap the 14-play drive. In contrast, Georgia had two very short drives (three and four plays each) and was forced to punt.

In the second quarter, Alabama started to pull further ahead immediately, with the score going 14-0 after their first drive. However, things began to look better when Gunner Stockton led the Bulldogs on a lightning drive, which ended with a 38-yard touchdown pass to Colbie Young. When the Crimson Tide was forced to punt after four plays in their next drive, it seemed like Georgia had taken control of the game.
Then came a fumble by Nate Frazier, which drove Bulldogs fans crazy.
“Bench Frazier the rest of the f**king year” demanded one fan
“Weekly tweet about a Nate Frazier fumble” said someone in frustration
“Nate Frazier due for 1 fumble every f**king game and I’m sick of it” complained a frustrated fan
Others went for jokes, some making a comparison to Moneyball and the band of misfits Billy Beane and Paul DePodesta got together at the Oakland A’s.
Billy this is Nate Frazier. He’s fast, strong, explosive, and hard to bring down. The only drawback is he can’t hold onto the ball pic.twitter.com/AUnV809VTB

“If you told Nate Frazier to hold a secret, TMZ would be at your door by midnight” joked another person
Is there a business opportunity for the running back here?
“Nate Frazier needs a NIL deal with butterfingers” joked another fan
Other fans took the complaints a step forward, asking for Frazier to be benched.
“Bench Nate Frazier dawg this ain’t game be fumbling and giving this team short field.” demanded one person
“Gotta sit Nate Frazier. Dude don’t know how to hold on to the f**king ball this season smh” explained another person
The fumble could’ve been a big problem for the Bulldogs, but the damage was mitigated by their defense stopping Alabama’s offense to just a field goal after the fumble. Despite the overall public perception, this is just Nate Frazier’s second fumble of the season so far.

Alabama vs. Georgia Halftime Report
Despite the slow start, Georgia managed to get within earshot of Alabama shortly before halftime. Immediately after the field goal, which followed Georgia’s fumble, Gunner Stockton and the offense embarked on a lengthy six-minute drive, culminating in a touchdown that brought the score to 17-14 with two minutes remaining.
However, the big problem for Georgia wasn’t Nate Frazier’s fumble, but their inability to stop Alabama’s offense after the two-minute pause. In an eight-play, 75-yard drive which ended in a two-yard touchdown run by Ty Simpson, the Crimson Tide once again widened the gap to 24-17.
Gunner Stockton has so far thrown for 79 yards, with one touchdown pass and a 60% completion rate. On the other hand, Ty Simpson has 192 passing yards, two touchdowns, and a 65.2% completion percentage.
