“AB Is Killing A’ja Wilson Respectfully”: Fans Slam Aces Star After Lacklustr Start vs Dawn Staley’s Former Player Aliyah Boston

The ongoing game between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces has Aliyah Boston and A’ja Wilson going at each other inside the paint. At first glance, it appears that Boston is holding her own against the 2025 regular season MVP.

Wilson has failed to get shots up on the post as Boston is defending her really well. In the first 13 minutes of her time on the floor, the Aces forward has only been able to shoot 1-of-9 from the field. Boston is to be credited for poor shooting from the Aces. In the same time, the Fever forward has already scored six points, leading fans online to slam Wilson.

“AB is killing A’ja Wilson respectfully,” one fan said.

“A’ja Wilson is always crying for a foul call,” one fan commented.

“A’ja Wilson stop shooting the ball,” one fan posted.

“Get A’ja Wilson off my team,” one fan reacted.

“A’ja Wilson get cooked by Aliyah Boston,” one fan posted.

“Bro A’ja Wilson is no match for Aliyah Boston,” one fan wrote.

“A’ja Wilson cannot guard Aliyah Boston it’s kinda wild to watch,” one fan wrote.

Aliyah Boston and A’ja Wilson Get Honest About Defending Each Other in Fever vs Aces Series

Aliyah Boston and A’ja Wilson are both central figures of their respective teams. They are the defensive anchors, and the way their matchup goes, it pretty much dictates the game.

In Game 1’s 89-73 Fever win, Wilson was kept in check by Boston. She scored 16 points but also added 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, Boston had six points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.

After Game 1, Boston said she tried to be “annoying” and make her presence felt while guarding one of the league’s top players.

“Honestly, just trying to kind of be annoying a little bit, because A’ja is a pretty great player. So for me, just trying to make sure my presence is felt,” Boston said.

Wilson has also publicly spoken about going up against Boston before Game 2. The Aces star said:

“It was no different than any other time that I play Aliyah, or any other big in this league. It’s always very physical, and it’s playoffs, so they let you get away with a lot of different things. “But that doesn’t really change much of the game and our system. So we really just gotta continue to buckle in.”

Wilson bounced back in a big way in Game 2. She scored 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting, grabbed nine rebounds, and also recorded a playoff-career high of five steals. Meanwhile, Boston posted 10 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds. Thanks to Wilson’s performance, the Aces won Game 2 and leveled the series.
