“Absolutely Not”: Jordan Poyer’s Wife Rachel Bush Rejects Matthew McConaughey’s Unique Marriage Advice

In his new book ‘Poems & Prayers,’ Matthew McConaughey has shared advice for couples on how to make a marriage last. The Hollywood legend has been married (to Camila Alves) since 2012, so he knows a thing or two about it. However, Jordan Poyer’s wife, Rachel Bush, has disagreed with McConaughey’s advice.

In his book, McConaughey detailed why couples should opt only for a queen-size bed instead of a king-size. In his opinion, it allows couples to be closer to each other and is extremely helpful in the long run.

“The best thing you can / do for your / marriage,” he wrote. “One way to surely / get ahead, / is get rid of that / king-size mattress, / and sleep in a / queen-size bed.”

An excerpt of the same was posted on Instagram by Viral Pop, which caught Bush’s attention. She reposted the message on her Instagram story to hilariously reject the offer.

“This marriage seems wonderful, great people, 10/10 but absolutely not,” Bush wrote.

Similar sentiment was shown by a lot of fans in the comments section. They believe the advice is great, but a king-size bed is non-negotiable. McConaughey, on the other hand, stood by his advice and even explained himself during a conversation with Fox News Digital.

“I wake up one morning,” McConaughey said. “I’m looking over there and Camilla’s like a football field away man. Then you go to bed at night, like you want to snuggle up and…‘Well, we’ve got to cover you up. Come about 12 feet and I’ll come 12 feet.”

The Academy Award winner said that while a king-size bed is good when the kids are young, once they grow up and no longer want to be on their parents’ bed, the distance grows. And he’d rather be “shoulder to shoulder” with his wife than be on a bigger bed.

Jordan Poyer on Rejoining the Bills

Poyer’s first stint with the Bills started in 2017 and lasted until 2023. Then he signed with the Dolphins, only to come back and rejoin the Bills for the 2025 season. This will be his eighth season with the franchise, and he believes this is where he’s supposed to be.

“This is where my heart is,” he told the reporters. “It’s where home is, where I essentially grew up in this game. On and off the field. My daughter’s grown up in this town, this city. And I feel like this is a way for me to give back to the community, to this team.”

Poyer believes that he still has a lot to offer to the game. He looks forward to contributing on and off the field. After his first practice session with the team, he said he was extremely thankful to be back with the Bills.
