“That’s 100x The Team Salary”: Fans React As LA Sparks Announce Massive Investment in New Practice Facility

The LA Sparks, coached by Lynne Roberts, have made a massive investment for 2027 and beyond for their franchise. On Thursday, Sept. 25, @espnw on Instagram uploaded a series of photos, showcasing the Sparks’ newest practice facility, slated to be completed by 2027. It will officially open in El Segundo, California.

According to the Sparks’ official Instagram account, the investment for the 55,000 sq. ft. training facility is reportedly worth around $150 million. This is believed to be the biggest investment by any women’s team in major sports. With this, the likes of Cameron Brink and Kelsey Plum will have a new place to work on their game individually and with the team.

“The LA Sparks planned 55,000-square-foot training and practice facility is expected to open in El Segundo in 2027. (📸 @la_sparks),” @espnw on Instagram captioned.

The Sparks‘ new practice facility is said to include several features and amenities, including the WNBA’s first-ever indoor-outdoor player sanctuary that has an outdoor spa pool with its own hydrotherapy suites, nap rooms, spaces for yoga, quiet reflection, and meditation.

For training purposes, two WNBA regulation basketball courts are said to be constructed, equipped with lockers, weight rooms, and gyms.
