PIC: Christian McCaffery’s Wife Olivia Culpo Poses in White Bikini in Latest SI Swimsuit Throwback Post

Olivia Culpo, Christian McCaffrey’s wife and the Miss Universe 2012 winner, made the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition in 2020. The sports magazine took some time this week to remind the public of some of its most iconic covers over the 2010s.

Among them was Culpo’s 2020 edition, where she appeared alongside models Kate Bock and Jasmine Sanders. At the time, Culpo said the following about making the magazine’s cover:

“I was so caught off guard and I cried immediately, followed by a shot of tequila after the call. I should probably add that I was on vacation in the Bahamas when they told me!”

She immediately told her parents, but she was afraid that her father would let the secret out:

“My dad is a talker so I was petrified the entire state of Rhode Island would find out by the end of the day before it was officially announced. I had to swear him to secrecy,” she jokes. “My parents know this was a goal that I set for myself so long ago and my dad was proud of me for achieving it.”

She further told Entertainment Tonight that the dream was completed by doing it alongside such accomplished models as Bock and Sanders.

“They are true ‘girls-girls’ — supportive, kind and honest. Those are the type of friends you want to have in life and it is amazing to be sharing such an important moment with them.”

When did Olivia Culpo marry Christian McCaffrey?

At the time of the cover, the former Miss Universe wasn’t yet married to the then Carolina Panthers star running back. Christian McCaffrey was fresh off his third season in the NFL, having been drafted by the Panthers in 2017 after a highly successful collegiate career at Stanford.

The couple had just started dating a little over six months before the Sports Illustrated cover was released in January 2020. Reports are that McCaffrey and Culpo started dating in June 2019, after being introduced by mutual friends.

They got engaged almost four years later, by which point the running back had already moved to the San Francisco 49ers. After their engagement in April 2023, the couple finally tied the knot in June 2024.
