The Pittsburgh Pirates survived a very close 4-3 win in Cincinnati, and the game had a lot of fans on the edge of their seats. This includes Paul Skenes‘ girlfriend, former LSU gymnast and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Olivia Dunne. She was seen nervously watching her boyfriend’s team win in the eleventh inning, winning by just one run.

Dunne nervously watching as her boyfriend and his team escaped Cincinnati with a crucial win over the Reds has gotten viral, and the former gymnast reacted to the viral post on her Instagram Stories, admitting that the game had her sweating.
“Can’t blame a gal for being nervous,” she wrote in her caption.
Paul Skenes, the Pirates’ starting pitcher, had been instrumental in that win as he only allowed four hits and struck seven Reds players out across six innings. Despite this, Cincinnati went on a big run and overcame a two-run deficit to force those two extra innings. However, the Pirates managed to hold on and score the winning run in the eleventh.
With that Pittsburgh win on their home turf, the Cincinnati Reds have gotten a wrench thrown into their National league wildcard race as they did not gain any ground in their playoff bid. Heading into the game, the Reds were tied with the Arizona Diamondbacks and were one game behind the New York Mets. While the Mets have lost, this loss did not benefit their playoff hopes either.
As for Dunne, the former LSU gymnast started dating the pitcher in 2023, with them confirming their relationship in August of that year. They have been very supportive of one another’s careers, with Dunne being a regular sight in Pirates games, while Skenes is supportive of her modeling career and influencer lifestyle.
Pittsburgh Pirates Pitcher Paul Skenes Is Chasing History
Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes has been on a tear since arriving in the MLB. A right hander with an ERA of 1.97, he became the first qualified pitcher with an ERA under 2.00 since Justin Verlander in 2022. He also has some historic stats to offer, and he has been doing it this season.
As a 23-year-old, he became the youngest with a sub-2.00 ERA since 1985 when Dwight Gooden achieved that feat when he was still 20 years old. He has also been playing well this season, finishing with 0.95 WHIP and 216 strikeouts so far.
