Army vs East Carolina: Key Players to Watch
While the Army Black Knights went 8-0 In the American conference last year, they have struggled so far this year and are 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
The offense in particular has not posted much in terms of yardage, but quarterback Dewayne Coleman leads the team in both passing yards (230) and rushing yards (217), and that is saying something, as Coleman has already scored two touchdowns while rushing and another two in the passing game. His versatility is certainly one to watch.
Another Black Knights player to look out for is kicker Dawson Jones, who has been reliable so far with his punts, giving Army a total of 23 points across four games.
In contrast, the East Carolina Pirates‘ Katin Houser has been very impressive, as he has already thrown 1,258 passing yards on 156 attempts and 108 completions this season. This has led to five touchdown passes but he has been sacked three times and intercepted three times already.
Houser likes to pass, and his main target so far this season has been wide receiver Brock Spalding, who already has 285 receiving yards on 19 receptions, though only one touchdown. Rushing-wise, running back London Montgomery has been reliable with 151 rushing yards on 36 carries, leading to two touchdowns.
