San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall is now the latest addition to his team’s growing injury report as of late. He joins the likes of wideout Brandon Aiyuk and fellow wide receiver Jauan Jennings in coach Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers injury list, as San Francisco aims to keep their early undefeated win streak alive in the 2025 NFL season in week four. The 49ers currently have a 3-0 record.
With the aforementioned players and now Pearsall potentially being added to the mix, San Francisco might be more short-handed than expected when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in their home pitch, the Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, California, on Sunday, Sept. 28. Nevertheless, with fantasy football also entering the meat of the year, let’s take a closer look at what kind of foreseeable future Pearsall holds.

Ricky Pearsall Injury
Pearsall is reportedly dealing with a left knee injury that is sore. This then kept him out of practicing during a 49ers training session on Wednesday, Sept. 24. Reports then indicate that Pearsall did not participate at all in practice, whether it’s in the warmups or stretching periods, and was seen looking on wearing a sleeve on his left leg. Despite this, Pearsall’s injury seems to be more minor than major.
When Will Ricky Pearsall Be Back?
Pearsall’s status as of late is currently day-to-day, meaning there aren’t any concrete answers on whether or not he will suit up for the game against the Jaguars. While he remains a game-time decision, with an official status coming closer to the game rather than later, Pearsall intends to play against Jacksonville in the hopes of helping his team snag win No. 4.
Ricky Pearsall Fantasy Outlook
Pearsall’s injury appears to be just left knee soreness and nothing more. Barring any other setbacks, it is more than likely that Pearsall will be back sooner rather than later, whether or not he is active against the Jaguars. This would require fantasy managers to look closely at their own rosters for those who already have the former Florida Gator, and be confident in his status for the rest of the foreseeable future of the campaign.
Pearsall is currently in his second year in the league after being drafted with the 31st overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. After a respectable rookie season that saw him appear in 11 games, many from the fantasy football world expect Pearsall to have a breakout sophomore year because of the upside and sleeper pick value he possesses with the flashes of greatness he showed in limited time during his first season.
