Deion Sanders’ son and his Shedeur Sanders faced a massive turmoil at the beginning of the ex-Colorado quarterback’s NFL career when he slid out of the projected first round to the fifth round and went from a top-10 projected pick to being picked as the 144th overall pick by the Cleveland Browns.
The massive draft slide Shedeur saw became the hot topic of the football world, with some individuals blaming Shedeur’s “crass” and “arrogant” attitude, while others blamed Coach Prime’s blunt statements during his interviews.
During his latest appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce’s show called “New Heights”, Coach Prime revealed that they got a call from the Ravens and the Philadelphia Eagles on draft day, but the Sanders family didn’t think it was the right move for Shedeur.
Reacting to this revelation, Colin Cowherd called out Deion for ruining Shedeur’s draft stock.
“Why Shedeur Sanders dropped like a rock in the draft and ended up going in the fifth round with the Cleveland Browns, where he’s now splitting scout team duties with Bailey Zappy. Deion Sanders admitted the Eagles and the Ravens called his son before the draft, but he didn’t want to be a long-term backup,” Cowherd said on his show called ‘The Herd.’
“Deion is quoted as saying, ‘I never sat on the bench and learned a lot.’ I mean, who learned sitting on the bench? Oh, I don’t know. Aaron Rodgers, Brady, Patrick Mahomes, behind Alex Smith, so two great organizations said, ‘Would you like to come into our house and learn from us?’ Nah, yeah, not great parenting,” he added.

He gave an example of his coffee and said he doesn’t pull the cup off the darn until it’s ready, drawing parallels with Shedeur’s situation, asking him to be prepared and patient/
Deion further expressed his faith in Shedeur’s future and said he is certain the ex-Colorado QB will get a shot at Cleveland.
