Former Colorado Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders went undrafted in the 2025 NFL draft. However, he did not wait too long to get signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While he went through camp and appeared in some preseason games for the Bucs, he was eventually cut. Sanders has been without a team ever since, but on Tuesday, there was a report that he worked out with the undefeated AFC powerhouse, the San Francisco 49ers.
Shilo Sanders has not signed a contract, but it is not a surprise to see him working out with a team like the 49ers. They have been dealing with several injuries, including a recent one to star defensive player Nick Bosa.

The news that Shilo was working out with the 49ers got some buzz going in the NFL. Reactions were mixed as to whether the 49ers should sign him.
“Please don’t sign this clown,” one fan wrote.
“Let’s Go Shilo. Love me some Shilo,” one fan commented.
“Come on, 49ers. Work your magic,” one fan added.
Fans continued to react in the comments.
“Noooooooo!!!! Browns & 49ers been my two LEAST favorite teams for YEARS! How is it possible that the only two guys I care about are/may end up on THESE two teams bruh??!!” one fan wrote.
“Is every team going to give this dude a tryout even though he can’t play NFL,” one fan commented.
“I hope he does well and they pick him up! Got a lot of love for Shilo!” one fan added.

How Likely Is It For Shilo Sanders To Sign With The San Francisco 49ers?
As things stand, there has been no indication from the San Francisco 49ers that they are going to sign Shilo Sanders. It is common for players to work out with NFL teams during the season and not sign with them. So, while it is a good sign for Shilo that he is being allowed to work out with an NFL team, it is not necessarily a sign of an impending contract.
While the 49ers have dealt with many injuries, not many of them impact whether they sign Shilo. The most notable injury that could influence the 49ers to sign Sanders is to safety Malik Mustapha. He has been out since the start of the season.
